Summer of Sport

by Clayton Fine Jewellery, 3 August 2015

It’s been an exciting couple of months in Great Britain with Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, and Henley Royal Regatta all taking place this summer so far. While we’re always thrilled by the sport, these events remain such a great source of inspiration when it comes to jewellery.

Whether you’re watching at home or right on the edge of the action (preferably with Pimms in hand!) – events such as these are inherently glamorous. We love crowd-watching and spotting our favourite designs and dressing up for the occasion too of course.

See our Summer of Sport Pinterest board here – inspired by the fun and glamour that surrounds our favourite summer sporting events.

The Art of Time

by Clayton Fine Jewellery, 20 July 2015

We are excited to introduce our new Pocket watch range, an intriguing collection of timepieces inspired by pocket art, the craft of creating beautiful works of art in miniature. Quirky and modern, each one of these watches is a masterpiece in its own right.

Bold, striking and memorable, the Pocket range sees vibrant colours merged with rose gold and silver tones, with the Crystal collection exhibiting a subtle ring of Swarovski Crystal Elements. The Chrono collection features sub-dials in an array of shades and textured soft leather straps.

Their true identifier, the three dimensional ‘numberals’ that decorate the watch face truly set these timepieces apart.

Bridal Beauty by Claudia Bradby

Claudia Bradby started Claudia Bradby Jewellery after receiving a wedding anniversary gift that she felt didn’t suit her. Finding herself inspired by less traditional, more relaxed designs, Claudia adopted pearls as her material of choice: a traditional one that she beautifully re-appropriates and brings to life in her modern designs.

A gorgeous addition to an everyday outfit, Claudia Bradby pieces also accessorise a formal outfit perfectly. Wedding season is most definitely upon us and Claudia Bradby’s stunning designs are the perfect finishing touch. Be it for bride or guest, her pieces bring both style and elegance to any look.

In particular we love her necklaces, especially the delicate Peregrina Single White Freshwater Pearl Drop Pendant, and can’t resist her bold take on a classic in the Bella White Necklace – where hand knotted white pearls are accented by a strong silver hammered heart pendant. Gorgeous designs that are just crying out to be worn!

New pieces, all elegant and wonderfully versatile, have recently been added to our online shop. Shop the collection here.

Just in… Bering Watches

by Clayton Fine Jewellery, 15 December 2014

In 2008, Danish adventurer and businessman René Kaerskov descended from a helicopter into the ice cold of the Arctic. In doing so, he was enveloped by the vast expanse of white landscape around him. Captivated by his surroundings, he went onto share tales of his adventures with friends and business partners Michael Witt Johansen und Lars Gram-Skjønnemann, and in being so inspired, the three Danes went on to develop the Bering brand. Their vision was a collection of timepieces that would be ‘as pure, clear and breathtakingly beautiful as the Arctic itself’.

Combining stylish minimalist Danish design and durable materials, Bering watches are both beautiful and long-lasting. With ranges designed for both men and women, in a selection of styles, there is a Bering watch to suit every modern taste. Cutting-edge materials including both HighTech-Ceramic and Slim Ceramic and the robust, crystal-clear Sapphire Glass ensure that these watches stand the test of time.

We are now thrilled to be stocking an exciting new selection of Bering watches in our Haslemere shop. These products are not yet on our website, so be sure to pop in and see these beautiful designs for yourself!

Clayton Fine Jewellery Celebrates 10th Anniversary

by Clayton Fine Jewellery, 1 December 2014

Clayton Fine Jewellery turned ten last week; marking a decade of excellent service and an extensive range of stunning jewellery from both international brands and leading British designers.

After working within the retail jewellery sector for some time, Managing Director Keith Clayton decided to open his own store in 2004 at the corner of High and Lower streets, in his home town of Haslemere, where he has lived for over thirty years. Keith feels that “Haslemere is a great place to trade because it’s different from most other towns. It has a unique range of individual shops and people come from many miles around because they know there’s something different here.” Keith believes that at Clayton Fine Jewellery, “we are special because we have a great staff who are really customer-service focused. We have a unique proposition with the range of stock we offer – you won’t find a range like it in any of the big towns.”

Looking back on the last decade, Keith remembers business milestones such as an extension of the shop and the subsequent expansion of an already varied range. The relatively recent choice to embrace e-commerce facilities on the Clayton website has also contributed to their success, bringing “a really interesting selection of jewellery and watches” in particular.

Recognising changing trends and attitudes to jewellery across the years, Keith remembers how the popular pieces used to be “mostly gold chains, gold earrings and diamond rings,” but at the time of their opening there was a “major resurgence of silver jewellery – mainly because of high gold prices.” Keith notes that now, “there is a lot of collectable jewellery, including charms and beads. Jewellery and watches are designed as collectable fashion accessories – to be worn and to be enjoyed. Investing in jewellery is fine in the long term, but don’t expect to buy something today and resell it at a big profit in the short term.”

As the build-up to Christmas begins, with Haslemere’s Christmas tree standing tall and special Christmas shopping events arranged, Keith’s suggestions for Christmas gifts this year include diamond rings, earrings, pendants, and watches. Clayton’s 101 gift ideas for Christmas are being tweeted frequently to provide some helpful inspiration, meanwhile Keith and all of the friendly Clayton team are ready to assist customers instore in finding wonderful gifts to suit all tastes and pockets.

Here’s to the next sparkling decade!

A classic look for classic cars!

by Clayton Fine Jewellery, 5 September 2014

Established in 1930, Swiss jewellers Rodania have been producing exceptional watches of the finest quality for surprisingly reasonable prices.

Why not compliment the innovation of motorcars at the Goodwood Revival by wearing an innovative piece from the Rodania collection this summer? Enhancing Goodwood’s Revival theme, Rodania has created a timeless gold plated Zola ladies watch as well as an elegant stainless steel gentleman’s watch.

The brand has a distinguished history in the motor-car industry, so much so that Thierry Boutsen, Formula- 1 pilot and 1989 grand Prix winner, became the brand ambassador for Rodania. Ever popular with motor car enthusiasts around the world, the Rodania watch became the official Timekeeper of the Paris-Dakar Rally. Next year Rodania will celebrate its 85th anniversary and have plans to launch a new collection to mark the event.

Following on with the Goodwood Revivals classic theme, we would like to introduce our Jersey Pearl range. These vintage inspired designs use exceptional pearls and each luxurious statement piece will complete your outfit beautifully!

Here are our favourites from the Rodania and Jersey Pearl collection this season:
